It is my pleasure to extend vice-regal greetings to the members and friends of the Faith Communities within the Prairie to Pine Region of the United Church of Canada as you gather in service to your congregations and the broader community.
Though the world is constantly changing, our churches continue to serve a central and vital role in our lives. They are traditional gathering places where people come together in peace and fellowship – whether they are celebrating their faith, sharing life’s joys or seeking comfort amid its sorrows. It is admirable that your church community continues to evolve over time to best address the spiritual needs of your congregants in these challenging times around the world.
Through your shared commitment to the power of love, faith and compassion, your church community has touched thousands of lives and brought hope and inspiration to people in need. Our province is better for your efforts.
Thank you for all of your good works – past, present, and future – and best wishes for many more years of faithful service.
The Honourable Anita R. Neville, P.C., O.M.
Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba
