Big, bold, and full of spirit—our United Church float won the Size and Support Award at the 2025 Winnipeg Pride Parade!

On Sunday, June 1, a group of approximately 70–100 members of the United Church, representing the Prairie to Pine Regional Council, participated in the Winnipeg Pride Parade. Walkers of all ages joined together from eight Winnipeg congregations: St. Mary’s Road United Church (SMRUC), Churchill Park, St. Andrew’s River Heights, Westworth, Young United, Augustine, Transcona Memorial, and Meadowood.
Music once again played a central role in the celebration. Speakers mounted on a truck provided a lively soundtrack as participants walked the route, offering smiles, waves, and energy to those gathered along the way.

This year’s parade was an incredible celebration of diversity, strength, and community spirit, and we were honored to be part of it. The award recognizes not only our presence and energy, but also our ongoing commitment to visibility, inclusion, and support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Our participation this year was coordinated by youth and young adults from Winnipeg, whose leadership and commitment were vital to the success of this parade entry!
