T’BJIGGN is a cluster of churches composed of Transcona Memorial United Church, Birds Hill United Church, John Black Memorial United, Immanuel United Church, Grey Street United Church, Gordon-King Memorial United and North Kildonan United Church in Winnipeg. They received Regional funding to hold this excellent gathering, and we remind you that funding is easily available for your own Cluster or Network development and support.
On November 25th, the North East Winnipeg Cluster group called TBJIGGN held a pre-Advent gathering at Immanuel United Church from 2 to 4pm. Our cluster group worked together and decided on the Theme for Advent “How a weary world rejoices”. The event, attended by about 80 people of all ages, began with worship. Members of each church choir led and taught us two new Advent hymns pertinent to the theme we were using during Advent. A time of fellowship, comfort food and crafts related to the theme followed.
It was a fun afternoon to help us enter into the season of Advent as a community of churches, to together learn parts of worship that we would share each week in our own churches and to renew old friendships and start new ones.
Each of our cluster churches used the same candle lighting liturgy and some prayers for the four weeks of Advent. These cluster gatherings have helped us share resources, get to know and learn from each other and to work together.
