If you’re looking for exciting new music — and maybe a last-minute Christmas gift? — check out ‘A Year in the Life of Faith’ by the Journey Band at St. Mary’s Road United Church.
As the pandemic swept across the world in the spring of 2020, the band was challenged by the sudden loss of connection with each other and our church community. Out of trying times arose a year of making music together in new and amazing ways.
‘A Year in the Life of Faith’ follows the Christian calendar, starting with Advent and moving through the Nativity, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Pentecost, and finally the Season of Creation. There are lots of Praise and Worship songs, and other themes addressed include reconciliation between settlers and Indigenous Peoples, affirmation and inclusion of LGBTQ2S+ persons, and the need to care for the natural world God has given us.
Our music has already been used by United congregations in Alberta and British Columbia; we are happy to share our music with any congregation that wants to include it in worship.
