A talk at the University of Winnipeg launching Brown Tom’s Schooldays, the story of a young boy’s life at Residential School drawing from Reverend Enos Montour’s first-hand experiences at Mount Elgin Indian Residential School between 1910 and 1915.
This re-issue of the book by the University of Manitoba Press puts Brown Tom’s Schooldays in the contexts of the histories of Indigenous communities surrounding the school, Indigenous publishing, Mount Elgin, and the United Church of Canada.
The University of Manitoba Press will host a display of books on Indigenous history and Residential Schools outside the Hall.
