DESCRIPTION:An invitation from Rebecca Watson\, Keeper of the Centre-Sandy Saulteaux Spiritual Centre \nWe are looking forward to Mamawe Ota Askihk\, July 28-August 1\, 2025! Gather with Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies of all ages for a week of hands-on skill sharing. Make friends\, braid sweetgrass\, learn to bead\, make a basket\, sing drum songs\, eat from the garden\, carve soapstone and more. \nWe would love to have you back if you are able to come. We are reaching out early to give you the lead time that you might need to secure financial support for your registration or travel costs. The registration cost this year will be: \n**Please see pricing options on the registration form** \nIn the past\, we have had significant funding that allowed us to reduce the cost of registration for all participants. Currently\, we have limited outside funding available for this event. \nWe encourage you to reach out to your band\, church or agency that would support you to attend Mamawe Ota Askihk in 2025. DESCRIPTION:Mamawe Ota Askihk – Sharing Life Together Here on Earth \na spiritual gathering for land based learning \nAugust 21 – August 25\, 2023 \nSandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre\, Beausejour MB \nSpend a week with Indigenous and settler allies immersed in hands-on learning about growing\, harvesting and preparing medicines and foods from the land. We will learn drum songs\, smoke meat\, go for a medicine walk\, break down a beef quarter\, sew skirts and more. All ages welcome! Register online here.  \nPlease check the site- the event may be full.\nIf the fees are a barrier to attendance: \n\nFor non-Indigenous participants\, \, you might approach your church to ask if they would share in the cost as an extension of their work towards reconciliation.\nFor Indigenous participants\, inquire in your registration about access to bursary funding through the camp itself.\nFor youth\, there are a limited number of spots for 15 to 17 year old youth to come without caregivers to participate as a Neechi Camper.  Contact Twila for Neechi Camper info.\n\nClick here to see a photo/video story of last year’s event.

Experiences like these are helpful on our communal journey towards Truth and Reconciliation. \nDeadline to be considered for a camp bursary to offset registration or travel: July 7th.  Preference to Indigenous participants.
