DESCRIPTION:Plans are underway by the Committee on Lay Ministry/Lay Leadership Support for the annual in-person gathering of those in training for or functioning as Licensed Lay Worship Leaders throughout Prairie to Pine Regional Council. The gathering will be held on Friday\, October 17\, 2025\, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Mackenzie United Church (85 – 11th Street\, Portage La Prairie\, MB). The day will include time for worship\, networking\, sharing with the Committee on Lay Ministry\, Lay Leadership Support\, and engagement by staff from the Centre of Christian Studies on the theme of the use of “storytelling” in/as worship. A registration form will be sent to all LLWLs and CDM -Worship Leaders soon\, and is due back by October 09\, 2025.

SUMMARY:Pastoral Care Visitors Training
DESCRIPTION:The fall in-person session of Pastoral Care Visitors training is scheduled for Saturday\, September 27\, 2025\, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McKenzie United Church\, 85- 11th Street\, Portage La Prairie\, MB. The day will include time developing or practising the skill of active listening and reflecting on the topic of pastoral visiting related to hospitals and/or palliative care. Information on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) will be shared. Rob Reed and Barb Jardine\, along with guest presenter Joe Ball\, from the Spiritual Care Department at Brandon Hospital\, will provide facilitation for the day.
