DESCRIPTION:Earth Sunday Planet vs Plastics Lunch and Learn Event: Westworth United Church\, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue\, invites all who care about the ongoing chemical and plastic pollution of Lake Winnipeg to join us on Earth Sunday\, April 21. Bring your bag lunch to eat with others at 12:00 noon. The presentation begins at 12:30 pm with Sarah Warrack\, a researcher who works at the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD)- Experimental Lakes Area. Sarah has investigated microplastic pollution in Lake Winnipeg and surrounding waterways. She has found that it is infiltrating the lake’s ecosystem. This is a relatively recent development that has serious implications for ecosystems in Canada. \nWe look forward to seeing you.

DESCRIPTION:Prairie to Pine Wild Church\n(rain or shine – come dressed for the weather and approximately 2 km of trail hiking)\n7 pm on Saturday\, April 27\, 2024 at Birds Hill Park \nWe will meet at the Chickadee Trailhead on North Drive in Bird’s Hill Park. If you are coming from Winnipeg\, go through the Bird’s Hill Park West Gate on highway 59\, then follow the signs and turn left onto North Drive\, then turn left at the sign for Chickadee. Remember you need a Provincial Park pass (available online). If you are planning on staying for the bonfire\, we encourage you to bring a lawn chair. \nWe encourage you to host your own WIld Church experience close to where you live.
