SUMMARY:The Hymns We Sang\, The Hymns We Still Sing: 100 years with Rev. Dr. Mac Watts
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to a presentation by the Rev. Dr. Mac Watts entitled “The Hymns We Sang\, The Hymns We Still Sing – Celebrating 100 years of Hymnody” on Tuesday\, June 3 at 7:00 PM at Charleswood United Church\, 4820 Roblin Blvd. Winnipeg Dr. Watts was ordained by the UCC in 1953 and\, following pastorates and doctoral studies\, enjoyed a long career as professor and Dean of Theology at the University of Winnipeg until his retirement in 1994. His passion for the music of our tradition led him to be a part of the Winnipeg Presbytery Hymn Worship Committee for 35 years. Mac will be accompanied at the organ on June 3 by Dorcas Windsor (though we will all have a chance to sing!).  A reception in the Van Roon Hall will follow the presentation. Charleswood United Church is a fully accessible building with ample parking.

SUMMARY:Meridian Pastoral Charge's Celebration of the United Church of Canada's 100th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:Meridian Pastoral Charge will be celebrating the United Church of Canada’s 100th Anniversary on June 8th\, 2025 at 10 am at Sanford United Church in Sanford\, Manitoba. All three churches of the Meridian Pastoral Charge – Sanford United Church\, Avonlea United Church and Starbuck United Church are planning this celebration with invitations to special guests\, a luncheon\, sharing time\, church history displays\, and games. Congregants of all three community of faiths are asked to register with their local church by May 25th and to bring a lawn chair as some of the events will be outside – weather permitting. This special service will be lead by Reverend James DeBeer.
