DESCRIPTION:Plan to Attend a 4F Day for United Church Women \n(Faith\, Fellowship\, Fun\, and Food) \nThe Prairie to Pine UCW Regional Executive is planning to host a one-day event for women this fall in all the major areas of our Prairie to Pine region.  We have one event set for Brandon on September 27th and are now looking for other interested host churches in our region to support our desire to provide this special day to many United Church women. While we are the UCW Regional Executive\, this event is open to all women who attend the United Church. \nThe 4F Day for Women would start at 10:00 am\, allowing some travel time for those attending from surrounding towns\, and it would end around 3:00 pm.  There will be no registration fee as we have leadership grant money from the National UCW to cover costs incurred during the day. A free will offering will be collected\, which will be donated to the United Church of Canada’s Healing Fund. \nThe day would start with a mixer allowing you to meet or reconnect with other women of faith in your area. A Morning  Worship and Hymn Sing would follow\, taking us to lunch. \nAfter lunch\, Joan Zaretsky will introduce you to the book “Holy Moments: A Handbook for the Rest of Your Life” by Matthew Kelly.  You will each receive a free copy of his book.  You will have an opportunity to learn about the concept of Holy Moments and to brainstorm ways you can quickly and easily start incorporating them into your life. \nAs part of our Closing Activities\, we are seeking ideas for future events and how we can encourage future Fellowship opportunities.  The program will be completed around 3:00 pm. We hope you will leave having enjoyed a day of “Faith\, Fellowship\, Fun and Food” and will look forward to attending other 4F days in the future!

DESCRIPTION:The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a provincial holiday on September 30\, 2025. \nIt is a day of lament\, remembering\, and making a commitment to continue our journey of reconciliation between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous People. As people of faith whose denominations were actively involved in the establishment and the running of the “Indian Residential School System\,” we feel called to be active in the decolonizing of our churches and to be active in forging right relations. We also take this time to honor the survivors of the Indian Residential School System\, and those children who were lost as a result of their years in the system. We also lament the loss of culture\, and spiritualities as a result of these policies and programs. We commit to honoring the diversity of spiritual practices and cultures that constitute all the nations of this sacred land. \nWindsor Park United Church is inviting other United Church communities of faith and other denominations if they so choose to join us to honor the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday September 30\, 2025. \nWe will be meeting under the Solid Canopy at the Forks (the ice skating rink)\, at 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.. It is based on creativity\, hospitality\, and celebration\, and of course\, it is Christ-centred and for all ages.  Headquartered at St. Andrew’s College\, Messy Church Canada encourages and supports leaders in starting and growing Messy Churches.  There are gatherings on ZOOM that link Messy Church leaders from coast to coast to coast and there are regular mailings that share information.  Messy Church reaches into the community and connects with people\, helping all to see and know God’s love and care for them and for all of creation.  Messy Churches find their homes in many church denominations.  Messy Church Canada is the Canadian chapter of an international movement\, a ministry of Bible Reading Fellowship in the UK. \nPlease join Messy Church Canada on October 16\, 2025\, via Zoom as we share some ideas about Messy Church and offer some tips and ideas for starting a Messy Church. The day will include time for worship\, networking\, sharing with the Committee on Lay Ministry\, Lay Leadership Support\, and engagement by staff from the Centre of Christian Studies on the theme of the use of “storytelling” in/as worship. A registration form will be sent to all LLWLs and CDM -Worship Leaders soon\, and is due back by October 09\, 2025.
