SUMMARY:Prairie to Pine UCW-4F Day for Women
DESCRIPTION:Plan to Attend a 4F Day for United Church Women \n(Faith\, Fellowship\, Fun\, and Food) \nThe Prairie to Pine UCW Regional Executive is planning to host a one-day event for women this fall in all the major areas of our Prairie to Pine region.  We have one event set for Brandon on September 27th and are now looking for other interested host churches in our region to support our desire to provide this special day to many United Church women. While we are the UCW Regional Executive\, this event is open to all women who attend the United Church. \nThe 4F Day for Women would start at 10:00 am\, allowing some travel time for those attending from surrounding towns\, and it would end around 3:00 pm.  There will be no registration fee as we have leadership grant money from the National UCW to cover costs incurred during the day. A free will offering will be collected\, which will be donated to the United Church of Canada’s Healing Fund. \nThe day would start with a mixer allowing you to meet or reconnect with other women of faith in your area. A Morning  Worship and Hymn Sing would follow\, taking us to lunch. \nAfter lunch\, Joan Zaretsky will introduce you to the book “Holy Moments: A Handbook for the Rest of Your Life” by Matthew Kelly.  You will each receive a free copy of his book.  You will have an opportunity to learn about the concept of Holy Moments and to brainstorm ways you can quickly and easily start incorporating them into your life. \nAs part of our Closing Activities\, we are seeking ideas for future events and how we can encourage future Fellowship opportunities.  The program will be completed around 3:00 pm. We hope you will leave having enjoyed a day of “Faith\, Fellowship\, Fun and Food” and will look forward to attending other 4F days in the future!

SUMMARY:Pastoral Care Visitors Training
DESCRIPTION:The fall in-person session of Pastoral Care Visitors training is scheduled for Saturday\, September 27\, 2025\, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McKenzie United Church\, 85- 11th Street\, Portage La Prairie\, MB. The day will include time developing or practising the skill of active listening and reflecting on the topic of pastoral visiting related to hospitals and/or palliative care. Information on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) will be shared. Rob Reed and Barb Jardine\, along with guest presenter Joe Ball\, from the Spiritual Care Department at Brandon Hospital\, will provide facilitation for the day.
